Modern development process needs to be very quick. There are no space for unnecessary long planning and execution. The competition is tough. The bright idea can and will come to several people at once. The winner is the one who makes product first. We keep our planning efforts sharp and focused to ensure that our statements of work are well defined and clear to an execution team. We also utilize active feedback among all parties, involved in the project, to ensure that the vision of the end results is the same across all levels: from the project sponsor to the team leader and software engineer.
We prefer phased approach in the development process. At the initial stage (Phase I) we will develop the first build which will contain base functionality (the core). Open ended structure will allow to develop additional modules to be implemented at the following Phases.
Such an approach allows for faster implementation of the system, receiving earlier feedback from the project sponsor and customers. It is also allows to detect any possible flows in the system design early in the project stage and prevent development of the unnecessary modules which may not be accepted by the customer.
However, we are not set in stone in terms of the preferred development method. Our project managers have great experience in developing products from the initial idea to the commercial deployment (product development life cycle) and we implement best practices as outlined in PMBOK and suggested by PMI. We can and we will work with any customer to make sure that development procedure is satisfactory for all the parties, included in the project.
